Together, we empower children, protect the environment, and fight hunger through education, advocacy, and community action.
The LEAH Initiative was founded by Leah Namugerwa, a Ugandan climate activist, with one urgent mission: to protect our planet and secure a better future for every child. We believe that no child should grow up in a world poisoned by pollution, threatened by hunger, or ignored in decision-making.
Through education, advocacy, and action, we empower communities to plant trees, fight food insecurity, and raise youth voices for climate justice. Our work is driven by volunteers, partners, and young people who refuse to accept inaction as an option.
This is more than an organization it’s a movement of resilience, collaboration, and hope. Together, we can turn frustration into action and create a world where every child thrives in a healthy environment.
At the LEAH Initiative, we don’t just talk about climate change we act. Through tree planting, school greening, and innovative solutions like eco-briquettes, we are building a future where people and the planet thrive together.

Our future is on the line. The choices we make today how we treat our planet, how we feed our communities, how we listen to young voices will decide the world children inherit tomorrow. The LEAH Initiative is here to make sure that future is sustainable, just, and full of hope.
Stand with us in tree planting, clean-ups, and community outreach. Your time and energy can spark change where it’s needed most.
Become part of a growing movement of young people and allies who refuse to accept inaction. Together, our voices are louder.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us provide school materials, plant trees, and support food security in vulnerable communities.
Join our advocacy efforts against fossil fuels, food insecurity, and environmental injustice. We’re not just raising awareness we’re demanding action.
We push for laws that protect people and the planet. Through youth-led advocacy, we influence environmental policies, promote accountability, and demand climate justice at every level of government.
We believe education is the root of transformation. By supporting access to quality learning especially for underserved communities we equip young people with the tools to build a sustainable future.
From tree planting to waste management education, our climate projects transform words into change. Our flagship Birthday Trees campaign encourages individuals to plant trees as a celebration of life turning personal milestones into acts of restoration.
No one should go hungry. We champion sustainable agriculture, urban gardens, and community feeding programs that provide nutritious meals and empower families to grow their own food.
We refuse to sit back while the planet burns. The LEAH Initiative exists to turn awareness into action — planting trees, demanding climate justice, and building resilient communities. We know that young people are not the future, we are the present, and our voices matter now.
We believe that climate change is not just an environmental issue, but a human rights crisis. That’s why our work combines education, activism, and community transformation. Together, we rise for people and the planet.
